If your're like me and many others, exercise is definitely not to be mistaken for one of your favorite things to do. Some people absolutely despise exercising. In order to lose weight you must understand that exercising is a very important part of living a healthy lifestyle. However, I will give you a few tips for learning to love exercising, even if you truly hate it.

The first thing you should do is try finding a few exercises that you don't mind doing. While you are searching for exercises you like, remember that you should work your whole body. If you don't like some of the routines you find then look for alternatives to take their place. It's not set in stone that have to do sit-ups and crunches to strengthen your core muscles. Lunges and squats aren't the only exercises that give you a lower body work out. Replace running with swimming, or cycling if you prefer to. You will look forward to exercising if you find something you like to do.

Other good examples for alternative exercises are working on your garden, try doing some exercises that are similar to raking or mowing your yard or garden. You can try ice skating or sledding if you enjoy winter weather. Even video games have become a new way of getting exercise. Thanks to the introduction of the Wii, games such as Wii fit, Wii Sports, and Dance Dance Revolution are highly affective at providing activity and exercise.

Professional trainers can provide you with fun and new exercises that will help you avoid getting bored or feeling overwhelmed at the gym. You can also find a training partner or friend who wants to lose weight. This will help you stay motivated, and you will be able to challenge each other to meet certain goals that you would not easily reach by yourself. Things like walking, tennis, basketball, or a number of other one on one activities can be fun and challenging at the same time.

Take an exercise class, get out there and meet new people. You will find that a lot of people may feel the same as you do about exercise. Most gyms, and exercise classes are very low-cost or even free. You can also check out your local community center.

Exercise and diet work work best when combined if you really want to lose weight. Staying motivated can be very difficult so set goals and don't give up. Most importantly have fun and exercise wont seem like a chore at all.
