Companies can loose thousands of dollars in lost advertising if their web content title does not show up on the first page of a search. People want to find articles that they are looking for easy and fast. And they do it by way of a search engine.
If you want your content highly visible on the major search engines here are a few guidelines that you should use:
Keep your title short. Your title should have no more than six words in it with a very maximum of ten words. The first few words should have the keywords of what your article is about. Major search engines give high relevance to the first few words in your title.
Your title headline needs to stand out. When someone reads your title they need to know exactly what your article is all about. In effect your title should be a summary of your article. This is a skill and will come with time.
First few words of your title are the most important. Major search engines are going to pick up the first few words of your title as the most relevant for the search. If you need to have a product or company name in the title then place it at the end of the title.
Test your title in a few major search engines. Enter your title into a few search engines and check the results. If the first few results show up with the same content as you are going to write about, then you have succeeded in writing a good title.
Google AdSense Test. When using Google as one of the major search engine test, check the AdSense advertisements on the right side of the Google results page. If some of the AdSense advertisements have relevance to your article then you are in real good shape.
If Google AdSense advertisement did not come up, that was relevant to your article, it can mean that the words in your title were poorly chosen. Poorly chosen words in your title can misrepresent the specific topic or theme of your article. With practice and analyzing web content articles found on the major search engines you to can become proficient in writing great website content titles.
