For the Love of Your Dog

For many years dogs have been known as man's best friend. They are there to listen, they are loyal, and just so lovable at just the right moments. Now it''s time for us to give some of that loyalty back. Dogs are treated a lot like humans now and have been for years. They have special gourmet meals, doggy ice cream, and even pet insurance for your dog.

Pet insurance is more popular today more than ever. This pet insurance covers such items as MRI's, Catscans, and organ transplants. In the older days this would be unheard of. Pet insurance? Now people are so attached to their pets they will go to any extreme to keep them healthy and safe. Just like any other member of the family. Is it actually better to pay a monthly premium for your dog now to avoid costly expenses later? There are actually different plans you can choose from for your furry friend. There are plans for emergencies only. There are plans for preventative care. There are even dental plans. Who would have thought? You can purchase these plans ranging from $40-$60 monthly. Believe it or not it is similar to a human's policy. For older dogs you are going to pay more. Preexisting conditions are hard to get covered as in humans also. Carefully read your entire pet insurance policy to see what it includes and excludes. You may be surprised at what is covered and what isn't. Some things that my not be covered are chronic conditions, diseases, that could have been prevented had you had your pet vaccinated against it, parasites, congenital problems, teeth removal, behavioral problems, or elective procedures. This doesn't leave much to be covered at the cost of $40-$60 a month. This is definitely an option to think and rethink; insure or not to insure. Research the breed of your dog and look for common problems associated with that breed of dog. You may not need to insure after all.

Preventative care for dogs is needed as needed in humans. We immunize our children to keep them from getting ill. We should also immunize our dogs. There are different versions of preventative care for fleas, ticks, mosquito's, and worms. Your dog should be wormed about once a month. A good preventative for fleas and ticks is a medicine called Frontline. You put this medicine on the back of the neck and a little down toward the back. Also another preventative for this is Sentrypro XFC. A good preventative for mosquito's is to avoid stagnant water around your house. Mosquito's breed int his environment and also carry the West Niles Virus.

Exercise is another important aspect our dog deserves to stay healthy. Playing fetch in the yard or park, long walks, short walks, or even a jog. If you don't have the time for this check your local listings for a dog walker or a dog sitter. If you can't find one, this may help: www.PetSitFinder.com . You could also put an advertisement in your local paper for a dog walker or hire a teenager you know that is looking for a little extra cash.

We all love to spoil our dog with the food we eat ourselves. Table food is not a safe way to do this. Table food disrupts their digestive tract. There are plenty of dog treats or special meals for our pampered friend. Ice cream paws, Bit O Luv, and Jerky treats. Chef Michaels comes in eight varieties including smoked turkey and beef tenderloin. This also includes vegetable garnishes. Some web pages to visit for some yummy food for your pet are as follows; www.bluebuff.com , www.arknaturals.com , www.bravorawdiet.com , www.mulliganstewpetfood.com , www.purina.com , www.pamperedpettreatsusa.com , these are only a few.

Love your pet, immunize, feed correctly and enjoy the long life of you and your best furry friend. Try not to spoil too much.
