Tire Stores Open on Sundays in St. Charles, Missouri

This past Sunday morning, I went out to my van to go to the grocery store to get some eggs for breakfast and found I had a flat tire. I called my x-husband over to change it for me, only to find there was no spare mounted in the rear of the vehicle. Having a flat tire, and no spare, on a Sunday can put you in a huge bind in St. Charles, Missouri. Luckily I had another vehicle to use, thanks to my x-husband.

We went to WalMart and grabbed some fix-a-flat, a product that comes in an aerosol can and inflates your tire for a short span of time, giving you a few hours to get your vehicle safely to the shop for a tire change. I brought the product home and put it in the tire and quickly took my van to the WalMart Super Center's tire and auto shop for a tire change. The attendant reluctantly told me that they did not carry tires in the size I needed for my Toyota Van. They offered to repair the tire for $10, but could not guarantee it's performance and said it was only a temporary fix to the problem.

I didn't want to waste my money on a short term solution, and I really needed a spare tire, so I called a handful of tire stores in the St. Charles area to find a tire that would fit my van. It was difficult to get anyone to answer the phone on Sunday morning. Plaza Tire Service Inc., SafeWay Tire and Auto Center, Country Club Tire & Auto, and Coffey Automotive were all closed. After calling around to about 10 to 15 tire stores, I finally found 2 shops that were open on Sunday that had the time to change out the flat and provide me with a spare tire.

National Tire and Battery on Suemandy Road in St. Peters and Firestone Complete Auto Care on West Clay in St. Charles are 2 of the very few tire stores that were open to provide services on Sundays in and around the St. Charles, Missouri area. We chose to go to National Tire and Battery because they offered two tires, mounted and balanced for under $I40 for the tires that we wanted.
