Tired Aching Feet? Then Check Out Dr. Scholl's for Her Open Shoe Insoles

Susan Slade
I have many Dr. Scholl's products as I have metatarsalgia. This probably was caused by wearing high heeled shoes in my teens and twenties. I have also had foot surgeries, where bones were removed from my toes, and feet.

I have found the best product to be from a podiatrist, but unfortunately you cannot purchase these yourself, and have to return for more.

I have a lot of pain in my right foot, and when I was in St. Augustine, and Daytona, I had to walk the beach in sneakers. The only time my feet were bare, was when I was in the waves, and swimming.

Now I am back and have pain, under the toes in my right foot. I basically have no 'meat under there', just bones.

I was sent a sample of Dr. Scholl's For Her Open Shoe Insoles. The one they sent me was for my right foot. Lucky me.

I have the podiatrist ones in my walking shoes, and my favorite dance shoes, so I wanted to try this insole in my new dancing shoes. I purchased shoes that are half a size larger, with a wide fitting, so my toes have room to spread. They have a little one and a half inch heel to them, and open toes.

The Dr. Scholl's For Her Open shoe Insoles are black, and are six inches long, two inches wide at the heel area, and two and a half inches wide, at the widest part of the ball of the foot.

The top of them are black, and the underneath is the blue/turquoise color. It has the gel area for the heel, and ball of the foot.

When I placed it in my shoe, it was half an inch from the back, and one and a half inches from the tip of the front. In my eight and a half wide shoes, this ensured that the gel section was exactly where I needed it, for the ball of my foot. This is where I have to have support for my metatarsalgia.

These are very thin, and when you put your foot into the shoe it doesn't push your foot up to the top of the shoe, and cause discomfort. Once you have stuck them in place, I am pleased to say that they do not move, like other Dr. Scholl's ball of the foot products do.

I have worn these shoes dancing with the insole in the right shoe. My feet still have pain, and that will never go away, but I have to say that I was able to do more dancing, than without it in.

I mainly wear trousers, and an evening top, so wear knee highs too. Dr. Scholl's state:

"Soft lining feels great on bare feet".

I have tried them in the house with bare feet and they feel like suede or velvet. The only problem I have is that because they are smaller, so they don't show in open shoes, that the part that doesn't have the insoles, get wet, and sweaty.

They also state:

"Women no longer have to sacrifice comfort for fashion in their open-style shoes

Ultra-slim and discreet cushioning for open-style shoes

Dr. Scholl's® Massaging Gel cushioning at the heel and sensitive ball of foot area

Uniquely designed to fit a variety of open shoes, including sandals, strappy dress shoes, sling backs and slides"

I have to say that this is one of the better products I have used from Dr. Scholl's. The 'pads' that the podiatrist gave me fits either shoe, so those are wonderful. I just use them in the right shoe. Having this sample for the right shoe was a blessing for me. If I go ahead and purchase a pair, I will be stuck with the left insole, which I won't use. I am so fortunate that I only have the metatarsalgia in my right foot.

So if you have high heeled open sandals then these will be perfect for tired, aching feet. Once you get to my age you are lucky if you can still wear flats, and be able to dance the night away.
