Tired of High Gas Prices? is This a Real Solution?

These People Claim We Can Use Water. What Do You Think?

Beth Inman
I filled the car up today at a cost of $4 per gallon. I don't know about you, but I can't take much more of this. There has got to be a better way. If we are not going to get busy drilling our own oil, which I believe we should - but that is another story, then we need to get very busy coming up with an alternative. Now, a specialist I am not, but I just don't think there is enough farmland to grow as much product as we would need to produce the fuel alternatives that are on the table right now. I was just bopping around on the internet, which I do daily, when I came across a website that sells a guide to convert water into a gas that will actually power a vehicle.

According to the brains at www.gaspricerelief.com you can use the battery of your car to generate electricity. This electricity is then used for separating water. When it is separated, the water becomes a gas which is known as HHO, or two parts Hydrogen and one part Oxygen. According to this Web site, HHO is also known as Brown's Gas/Hydroxy. Apparently this stuff burns very smooth and creates a great deal of energy.

They claim that this is possible to do with plain old tap water; they state that it is not necessary to use spring water or water that has been sterilized. They go on to claim that this is more fuel efficient and that you can improve your car's fuel efficiency by up to 40% with this conversion. They claim it works for gas or diesel, but they also state they have not tried it on a hybrid car. According to the website, one quart of water makes 1800 gallons of the HHO gas and that the stuff will last for months.

The Web site, www.gaspricerelief.com claims also that this is safe and that the gas is extracted only when needed. They go on to say that storing large volumes of hydrogen in a pure state, can result in a highly flammable situation.

Another important thing they mention is that it will not void a vehicle warranty because the whole process can be reversed.

Now that you have the information, my question is this; is this something that is possible? Even remotely? If so, why in the world are we not studying this? If it is possible, and this a question...it would be cleaner, it is available, If it was used as a supplement along with petroleum, would it cause an environmental issue? Couldn't salt water be used?

Check out this Web site and come back. I honestly would love to know what everyone thinks about this conversion idea. If it is a good idea...why are we not already doing it; or at least talking about it? I am ready for anything that will ease the pain from these gas prices.

Wow Melissa! That would keep me away from it as well!

I've heard a lot about this. But I also know it's dangerous, if not done correctly. You could end up sitting on a ticking hydrogen bomb. That scares me enough to NOT try it!

Energy in a closed system remains constant. Therefore, the energy used by the car's engine to produce Brown's Gas (gasoline to charge the battery, the electricity for hydrolysis) would at best be a net of zero. Given that the process would lose some energy as heat, the net energy gain would be negative. This is like chasing the perpetual motion machine. Anyone using misleading comparisons like "one quart of water makes 1800 gallons of the HHO gas," (a real chemist would compare quantitative equals like moles) smacks of a huckster selling the equivalent of automotive patent medicine.

This is for real!! This technology has been around for 30 years. The best part is that you can do this yourself!! Check out this website www.nightromarketing.com and see for yourself. The objection that water will rust your engine is absolutely false. The Hydrogen vapors are not water. Hydrogen mixes with the air and causes the fuel to burn more efficiently. You owe it to yourself to at least research this.

  • Nice Idea, but it won't work/6/24/2008

It has been around a long time, this notion of water into gas. The only problem is that water will rust out the engine in no time. It doesn't work.

Interesting - I'm ready for solar powered cars.

I hope that we can drive a car by using air.

you kidding? if the gov thinks they can sneak a dollar out of our pockets you can bet they will do it. tell us of a cheaper way? not hardly.
