'tis Only a Madman

bw Frampton

The world came crashing down tonight -

a sweet, disturbing melody of shattering glass

from window panes of palaces

that has-been kings called home.

Promises lay broken.

Vows crumble to the ground

with throats cut from ear to ear.

Treaties torn asunder -

without knowledge of those who signed them.

Only a madman...

a simple madman...

without kin -

without hope -

without knowing the touch of love.

Only a madman

to cause such destruction;

only he could harness Deception.

A madman.

Only me.

For it is far better to explode

than to let your fire die out...
