Titusville, Florida's Best Family Friendly Restaurants

Restaurants Adults Will Enjoy the Food

Jane Vee
Titusville has plenty to offer including affordable family dining. Here are a few restaurants in Titusville, Florida that you can enjoy eating at with your children. Although nothing beats a McDonald's with a play area for family dining, here are a few restaurants with more sophisticated dining pleasure.

Whistle Junction:

The best family friendly restaurant besides McDonald's, has to be Whistle Junction. The children will enjoy being able to get up and walk to the food bar. You will enjoy the relaxation of sitting down to eat a meal without having to cook 20 dishes so everyone will eat some thing. Whistle Junction even has ice cream on their food bar and your child can top it as they wish. There is a variety of meats and dishes as well as plenty of fruits and vegetables. The food bar has something for everyone. Even diabetics can enjoy Whistle Junction's desserts.

Prices for dining at Whistle Junction are quite reasonable. The food bar for adults costs $7.49 for lunch and $10.49 after 4:00 PM. Drinks are separate and cost $1.99 each. Prices for children are quite reasonable. Children three and under eat free. Children from four to twelve years old cost 44 cents per year of age for lunch and 55 cents per year of age after 4:00 PM. High chairs and booster seats are available, but there are no coloring pages or entertainment for the children.

Whistle Junction is located on Highway 405 or Columbia Blvd. across from Wal-mart going south. Whistle Junction's parking lot is on your right before the speed limit increases and it is a sharp right. Lighting is decent with the other stores around it. Enjoy your meal.

Sonny's Bar-B-Que -

One of the best treat's on hot days, besides ice cream, has to be iced tea. The pork bar-b-q is one of my favorites. It all but melts in your mouth and the taste is scrumptious. An adult can eat for under $10 and there is a children's menu. If you take your child to Sonny's Bar-B-Q your child receives a free coloring page to wait. High chairs and boosters are also available.

Sonny's Bar-B-Q is located on Highway 50 or Cheney Highway, east of Wal-mart. The entrance is on the side and there is an incline to the parking lot. If you are taking young children, the inside is a little crowded so strollers aren't a good idea. This is a great family restaurant as far as atmosphere and being child friendly.

There is a take-out menu as well as the regular menu. Sonny's Bar-B-Q also does catering. You can have a special occasion catered on site or you can pick up the food and do the serving yourself.

Dixie Crossroads -

One of my favorite restaurants is Dixie Crossroads. Dixie Crossroads is known for it's seafood menu. There are other food items on the menu for adults and children. The children's meals cost $2.99. Other food items include chicken, hamburger, and rib sandwiches.

There are boosters and high chairs for the children. The atmosphere is usually family oriented and friendly. This is a great restaurant for anyone, but the least expensive for children. As far as prices, the main courses start at $8. If you are only eating a soup or salad, you can get away with $5.

Dixie Crossroads is located on Garden St. in Titusville. The entrance is secluded, but there is a front entrance to the parking lot, as well as a back entrance. The drive-up pickup window is in the rear of the building for take-out orders.

The two least expensive restaurants for children in Titusville is either Wendy's or McDonald's on Columbia Blvd or Highway 405. Neither has a play area for the children, but the prices are the best in town when feeding the kids.
