Time.
There is no
such thing past
a futile human need
for pattern, order,
a linear chain
to be followed,
understood.
The proof?
That we exist in the present,
that with a memory,
an anticipation,
we exist in past
and future moments
separate and simultaneous.
Time
folds inward,
outward
at a single instance -
and that instance
is eternity.
"I do not understand
time, it does not make sense
to me."
These words
she whispered
one year ago.
"I do not understand
time."
But she does,
did, will, better
than most.
Talk of a clock
set to her
time. Which time
is real time? Her time?
His time? Their time? Or
your time? The world's
time? All time?
No time?
A lot can happen
to a man in one year.
He can find himself
in a distant mind,
explore what they were
and would become,
and in time, he can lose himself
more completely
than he is, was, will,
ever be lost.
She claimed to not know time,
but in his time
all that is
is her time.
And she is gone -
Timeless;
without fading.
