TMobile at Home Sevice: What is the Catch?

If you are familiar with the cellular company TMobile than you may have heard about a new service from TMobile called TMobile at Home (TMobile @ Home) I am a fan of TMobile, I have had their service for about two years now and I love their plans, customer service, and innovative breakthroughs. The TMobile at Home service is just one of the many innovative services they have had break on the market recently. The TMobile HotSpot is another innovation from TMobile, but since I do not use it (at least not yet) I am unable to review that particular one.

But, I do personally use TMobile at home service and I have to say that I love it! Before I get into all of that, let me first introduce and familiarize you with what exactly TMobile at Home is. TMobile at Home is a service that allows you to get unlimited nation wide calling in your home for only $10.00 a month. Yes, you heard right - unlimited calling for ten bucks per month.

If your waiting for a catch, there is a little snag. Well, not so much if you already enjoy TMobile's cellular service. The catch, so to speak is that you have to have a cell phone plan through TMobile to qualify for the TMobile @ Home service. Not a bummer if you already have their service, right? You also have to agree to a new two year agreement. For me, this was no biggie at all. i have really come to enjoy TMobile and expected to renew my cell phone contract for two more years anyway. for some this may be a deal breaker if they are already considering a new carrier. You also have to pay an activation fee on the TMobile @ Home service. The standard $35.00 fee is typically added to your fist months bill, as well as the $40.00 charge for the WiFi wireless router.

So as you can see, there is a little bit of an investment to get everything going. But then again, paying your phone company $50.00 bucks a month for the same service...well, you see my point, hopefully. In the end, getting TMobile at Home is an amazing deal. You do have to have DSL or other high speed Internet connection at home to be able to use the TMobile at Home service. You can port your existing number if you wish, or TMobile can generate a new number for you.

The calls are clear. as a matter of fact, the very first call I made to my grandmother (who is hard of hearing) asked why I sounded so much clearer than before! No joke! You get caller ID, call waiting, voice mail and three way calling as well. Another great plus is if you get mobile to mobile calling with your current cell plan, the home number is also a free call! I have found that I was able to slash a total of $30.00 of my existing family plan through TMobile because I now use my home phone for all my calls when I am home. Since I am home more often than I am out, this was a huge plus!
