TNA 2007 Bound for Glory PPV Preview

Bruce Bostwick
It is the 3rd annual Bound for Glory considered by many in TNA the big event like the Super Bowl or the WWE's Wrestlemania. The date of the event is October 14th, 2007. It really is debatable as to which one really is the biggest event as Slammiversary is often looked at TNA's anniversary since the company started in June of 2002. This is not about which one of TNA's PPVs is actually bigger but more or less a projection of what is to happen exactly and based upon predictions from the top to the bottom. Without further delay, it is time to go through and get the card set up starting from the championship bouts all the way down to the end.

TNA World Title-Kurt Angle © vs. Sting

The match that was probably expected to happen sooner or later at the biggest event for TNA today, but was probably unexpected initially was it would be the biggest championship of the year. This is Sting's 2nd Bound for Glory PPV appearance and last year won the NWA Title for the 2nd time in his career in the Main Event against Jeff Jarrett. Kurt Angle will be competing in his 1st Bound for Glory appearance as the Heavyweight Champion and just last year he was the special enforcer in the championship bout. They were tag team champions for a brief period of time before losing them to Team Pacman. Since that time, it had become a battle more so added with Karen Angle. This could go either way actually to be perfectly honest. If Sting wins, he could face off with Joe for the title and drop it to him and if Angle wins, he could drop it to Joe as well if they decide to give him a fair chance. Either way, look for Sting to repeat and become TNA Champion for the 1st time ever.

Winner: Sting

TNA X-Division Title-"Black Machismo" Jay Lethal © vs. "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels

Daniels got his shot initially through a #1 contenders bout with the top X-Division Stars and also saw the reuniting of Triple X with Elix Skipper and Senshi. He lost his shot to face Angle by being defeated by Lethal, whom went on to win the X-Division Championship for the 2nd time. It is interesting because Daniels talked about wanting to ascend to the next level and now he's back in the X-Division Title hunt. He's a 3-time X Champ and wants to add #4 to the list, which really would be a stand still as he has proven that he is above the championship based upon performance. Lethal is getting started and it should be interesting to see how he performs as a champion. He will most likely to get the victory and retain and see what kind of a champion he really is.

Winner: "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal

TNA Tag Team Champs-Team Pacman© vs. AJ Styles & Tomko

This is more or less a one-man operation as Ron Killings is mainly doing all the work and Pacman isn't allowed to get physical with anyone at all. Styles & Tomko won the #1 contendership for the tag team titles in a tag team challenge. For Styles, it would be his 1st TNA Tag Team Title since he held the NWA World and Tag Team Titles when they were in TNA. With Tomko however, it would be his 1st championship in TNA but he was carrying around his IWGP tag team title. Team Pacman probably will not be expected to stick around much longer as it would make sense for Styles and Tomko to win the tag titles since at this point, there is no other choice for Bound for Glory. AJ Styles is going to be adding his 4th championship overall in his TNA tenure.

Winners: AJ Styles and Tomko

TNA Woman's Title-Christy Hemme vs. Gail Kim vs. Roxy Laveaux vs. Ms. Brooks vs. Jackie Moore vs. Shelly Martinez vs. Amazing Kong vs. ODB vs. Angel Williams vs. Talia Madison

Some of the women are unknown so it is really rather difficult to actually pick a winner. If that is the case, it could be Gail Kim to get it. Consider that she is a regular in TNA and some of them are more or less getting trials to see if they can fit in with the possibility of having a Woman's Division. To make a sure pick, Gail Kim for the win based upon being more familiar with her and the odds on favorite to take it all.

Winner: Gail Kim

Ultimate X-LAX vs. XXX

This really has no major meaning to have a bout like that unless it involves a #1 contendership for the tag team championship. Skipper and Senshi have been tag champs as a unit but only as NWA Tag Champs as the same with LAX. It comes down to who moves up the ranking for the TNA Tag Titles. With Styles and Tomko most likely winning and being a heel team, it would make sense for LAX to win and go for the tag titles. Unless the plan is to turn XXX into a tweener team, then based on that LAX gets the victory.

Winners: LAX

Team 3D vs. The Steiner Bros.

This is the 2nd match between the two teams and this time it's a 2/3 Tables Match. With 3D most likely out the door, it would make some sense for the Steiners to win actually. Then again, it is unknown what they will be doing after BFG as well. If 3D were to be gone after the PPV, then it would be for them to lose on the way out, as generally that is traditional to do that. For this bout, look for The Steiners to actually win the match. In an interesting piece of history, Rick and Scott Steiner have appeared at Wrestlemania, Starrcade, and now Bound for Glory as a team, which is a 1st.

Winners: The Steiner Bros.

Christian Cage vs. Samoa Joe

Last PPV and so far Cage has beaten Joe everytime they've faced off and this could be the charm for Joe. Christian hasn't been beaten by pinfall or submission during his entire TNA tenure and a streak like that is bound to come to an end pretty soon. If it happens at any time, this would be the event to have it end at. If anyone needs it, the Samoan Submission Machine needs this more than Christian and it would be wise to give him the belt soon. For some reason, the company has been reluctant on that but this time Joe will win.

Winner: Samoa Joe

Gauntlet for Future TNA Title Shot

This is more or less a challenge to see who wants the right for a title shot. It is unclear if it is for Impact or the next PPV as it would be common sense for such a thing. Some of the guys in there will most likely be Eric Young, Rhino, James Storm, Chris Harris, "Black Reign" Dustin Rhodes, and others. As far as this one, it's one of those bouts where it's not known who exactly who will be in and who gets a shot at the gold. Just a wild guess, it won't be Dustin Rhodes or Rhino winning for sure. It'll be James Storm for the victory for some reason seeing how he's been used a lot and been pushed.

Winner: James StormThere might be at least one other bout and it would be something with Kazarian and Roode having a return match. It'll be the story of will Ms. Brooks turn on Roode and go with Kazarian or is this all some type of trick. Bound for Glory could be good but it looks to be pretty obvious as to what will really happen. All that will be said is that it could mark the beginning of a major turning point for the company's direction as far as talent.
