TNA Making the X-Division Obsolete

Spy Radio
Rumor has it that TNA is considering getting rid of the X-Division. This is not a big surprise for a few reasons. First, the Championship has changed hands six times in the last five months. Based on that fact alone the Championship has become meaning less. Second, TNA added the Television Championship not to long ago. With the addition of another mid-card Championship there is really no need for the X-Division Championship anymore. Third, TNA no longer has the star power it once had. If you look at the roster now TNA has Amazing Red, Brian Kendrick, Douglas Williams, Jay Lethal, Kazarian, and Robbie E. Now think about the superstars who use to compete in the X-Division. The X-Division use to have Christopher Daniels, Aj Styles, Soma Joe, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Petey Williams, and Sonjay Dutt. Some of the superstars are no longer with the company like Daniels, Williams, and Dutt. Others like Styles and Joe have moved into the Heavyweight Division, while Shelley and Sabin joined the Tag Team Division. These could be a few reasons why the X-Division is becoming obsolete.

If TNA decides to make the X-Division obsolete how should they do it? I would like to see TNA bring back the Feast or Fired match. Whomever is X-Divison Champion at the time can win the briefcase that has 'Fired' in it. When that superstar opens the case to find their career in TNA is coming to an end. Bischoff can tell them to take that worthless Championship with them.

The X-Division title was one of the few things that made TNA unique and those stars helped build the company in the early days. It would be a shame if TNA decided to scrap the title.
