Matt Hardy was released from his contract with TNA following an arrest for a DWI (Driving While Intoxicated). Hardy was arrested on August 20 th after crashing his car into a tree.
It seems unfair that Hardy was released from the company considering Kurt Angle was arrested for being drunk in a car back in March. The same can be said for former TNA Wrestler Scott Hall. Hall was arrested for disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest back in May of 2010. In my article "TNA Wrestler Scott Hall Gets Arrested" I criticized TNA for not taking immediate action against Hall. TNA did not take action against Hall until a month later when they released him from his contract.
I think TNA made the right decision by releasing Hardy shortly after the incident but he did seem to get the short end of the stick. Although Hall eventually suffered the same fate as Hardy, Angle still remains with the company. Angle is still with the company because he is one of the top Wrestlers on the roster, to me that seems unfair to Hardy and Hall. TNA needs to punish all of their employees the same. No matter if it's a referee or one of the top Wrestlers in the company.

Response to your comment: Thanks! Yeah Matt really needs to get his act together, and so does Jeff. I think Jeff returned to TNA tonight? I'm not 100% sure on that though.
Thank you for your kind words, my brothers death was over thirty years ago but the similarity... Hope you are not impacted by the strange weather issues.
So right. My brother at 18y/o, died in just such an accident. Matt Hardy can consider himself fortunate.
I wish he'd get help. I hear his vids are creepy at times and he was rushed to the ER a few days ago. I've been a fan of Matt & Jeff for over 10 years. So if they need some kind of help, they need to get it because I really want them to be okay! :( Response to your comment: Quite possibly. But I'm really enjoying the Punk/Nash/Trips stuff. I've been a fan of Nash since 1996.
Doesn't seem fair. Guess they want to make an example of him.
bad news for him
