To My 9/11 Conspiracy Theorist Friends

My message is not on any anniversary of the terrible events of 9/11/01. Yet, I still feel this is important enough to share with those of you who "believe" that our US government was behind 9/11 in a conspiracy. We need to talk. I used to fall into line with all of your claims, but then a fellow freelance writer asked me what proof I had of these claims of a conspiracy. Proof is evidence of a claim made. I knew that when he asked me, and so it became an activity of mine to find it. There was no chance an un-backed charge of conspiracy would satisfy him or me, anymore. That's when my faith in the stories began to crumble.

I've looked for evidence of a 9/11 conspiracy.
I've been unable to find any credible proof of the claims of Government complicity, but I have found some other very interesting things. They're interesting to me and a few billion others anyway, maybe not you so much. The biggest point I noticed was how claims of a 9/11 conspiracy are lacking any evidence whatsoever.

9/11 conspiracy theories discredit legitimately concerned Americans, preemptively.
A point that troubles me about unfounded accusations of a 9/11 conspiracy is how nearly anyone who now mentions actual crimes committed by individuals within our government, are instantly discredited as "9/11 conspiracy nuts," thanks to such zealous and inane claims as this. We don't need the 9/11 conspiracy monkey on our backs. Still, many of you have expressed a desire for a reasonable, public discussion about a conspiracy, so here it is. This is not a mere "hit piece," and I am certainly no member of the CIA, Masonic Lodge, or the Illuminati. Let's talk reasonably.

Why are discussions about a 9/11 conspiracy so anti-Semitic?
Actually, I know this answer. No need for you to explain it. From what I've read thus far, most of you believe that there's a class of "Evil Jews" (not to be confused with "Real Jews") bent on total global enslavement, with the ultimate aim of murdering 80% of the residents of planet Earth. Besides simply flying in the face of logic itself, I can honestly say that I've not met a single Jew in my life who would commit such a heinous act. I've met a lot of people in my life, even before any adventures onto the Internet. While those meetings haven't always been rainbows and sprinkle ponies, it's more likely such nefarious plans are the aim of the creators of South Park, than any Jew. Frankly, you're all starting to sound like little Hitlers.

Might the 9/11 conspiracy truth movement be another cult?
Let's hope nobody's feelings are hurt by that statement. But in my travels, I have encountered a few cult members, and in much the same way you folks share a major feature in common with them. If you question the claims of a cult member/leader, it either turns ugly, or they go into something like a catatonic state of denial.

When I've asked what you might have to back up the claims of US government involvement in a 9/11 conspiracy, I've been "ridiculed" (if that's what you want to call it) or told I'm not "spiritual enough" to understand. (I'm not very spiritual at all, truth be told. Neither are you, since it's all biological/electrical/chemical activity, in spite of what anyone believes.) Instead of mature, healthy discussion, you behave like cult members.

There are folks who can, and will debunk conspiracy theories of 9/11, and I have approached them.
Might it surprise you all to know that, in spite of my "nobody" status, I have talked to people in the US military, engineers, construction, and the airline travel industry, who were glad to help a confused, and concerned fellow American to understand what happened? Most who make a claim of a 9/11 conspiracy are not looking at the facts about the event. They take claims of mad men for granted, and on face value.

A big part of this debacle has been that burning jet fuel could not have melted steel of the towers. It couldn't. That much is true. But you don't need to melt steel to take it's temper out. The jet fuel, all those office supplies, plastics, and carpeting burning for 56 minutes could heat it up that much though, easily. The weight of the upper floors pressing on the now-weakened steel is what brought both towers down. There were no bombs.

Again, where is any shred of evidence of our government being behind a 9/11 conspiracy?
This is the question I have asked a number of times, and for years, to no avail: Where is the proof our government was involved in a conspiracy of the terrible events on 9/11/2001? Noone has ever once answered that. I've seen plenty of copy and paste conjecture. There are tons of unsupported hypothesis. Some of the so-called evidence of questionable activity, used to falsely "prove" a 9/11 conspiracy include: pictures of pieces of metal severed by cutting torches of the clean-up crew, evidence of Thermite at ground zero which came from those same welders, and repeated videos of the towers falling on that awful day. This proves no conspiracy. This actually proves delusion.

Let's not forget the claims of invisible, mysterious boogey men, running the world out of some "secret location." And there are the the specious attacks and vitriol, but not one shred of credible proof of any conspiracy. For this, we make our fellow Americans relive that day of terrible loss and pain again and again? If you truly have one useful thing to offer in the comments, feel free to do so. I won't delete you.
