To Daddy, from Your Princess

Coral Levang
Dear Daddy, my Daddy!
You're so far away!
You're 'fending our country,
I heard Mommy say.

Our kitty had babies.
You should see all of them!
The dog ran away,
But he came back again.

Next month is my birthday.
I 'll be a big girl of seven!
Daddy, when animals die,
Do they go up to heaven?

I had pizza for lunch,
I saved a big piece for you.
It had lots of pep'roni,
And yucky mushrooms, too!

I forgot what you look like.
When will you come home?
And when you wake up,
Will you call on the phone?

I got a new dress,
It's so pretty and pink.
Brother just tooted.
Ew! It sure stinks!

I 'll be in second grade
After summer is done,
I can go real fast now.
Want to watch me run?

I wish you could hug me,
And growl like a bear.
Mommy took pictures.
Do you like my hair?

Are you coming home soon?
This time can you stay?
I'm tired of writing now.
I'm going outside to play.

And before I forget,
Big kisses and hugs too!
Am I still your Princess?
Happy Father's Day to You!
