To Fathers Everywhere

O. Harding
To fathers everywhere,
This is your pleasant day;
So cross your feet, eat, drink and sleep,
Cause you deserve this wonderful treat.

Unlike the mothers in every land,
Our reputation may stand on shaky ground;
But in the name of Jesus we arise,
Support and encourage our families we assure.

We might have made our mistakes,
You too have done the same;
Give us a chance to prove,
That we can rise and fulfill our role.

Give us your hand and let us walk,
With heart to heart and hand in hand;
Together let's join forces to withstand,
The forces of evil at work in our land.

Stand with your man and father strong,
Divided we are defeated;
That's where we now stand,
Shake the shackles that render you weak.

Children love your fathers,
Women love you men too
Treat them like people,
They are all part of you.

Fathers get serious and shoulder your responsibilities,
Failure to do so,
Will certainly bring you much sorrow
And engender more hatred than you presently feel.

Fathers and families,
Turn to the Lord,
Seek His forgiveness,
Follow His word.

Then we like children,
Under His tender care;
Will love one another,
And hold each other dear.
