To Hunt South Central Illinois

Dear Hunters

DLB
The Hunters come from far and near, They follow turkey and White Tail deer. Fields, forests and rivers they do not fear. To hunt south-central Illinois

Warm clothes of camouflage they'll don, Up trees in stands they sit upon. Doe scent their boots they put it on. To hunt south-central Illinois

They wake up early in the day, They give up sleeping, warmth and play. They offer promises and pray. When hunting south-central Illinois

The deer and turkey that they see, The calls that mock reality. To lure the "Big One" it must be. When hunting south-central Illinois

The days and nights and days they spend, At times they seem to never end. But worth at last to boast to friends. 'Bout hunting south-central Illinois

The buck is HUGE, the turkey wide, Are now displayed there side by side. Stories of tracking, told with pride. 'Bout hunting south-central Illinois

They thank the wife, They thank the Lord. Give thanks for time, they'd had to hoard. The hunting gear they now have stored. To hunt south-central Illinois

And now to make next season's plans, Save for that truck, and new deer stands. They pray all year for steady hands. To hunt south-central Illinois
