There are people like myself, JD and TAZ who actually think about things on our own, write these thoughts down and publish these ideas so we can get feedback from the general public who either want to know more or open a dialog as to why we think the way we do. I will admit that TAZ and JD have done much more leg work than I have but I have read court documents including trial transcripts from both Michael Perry and Jason so I have done my homework and have the right to defend Michael Perry.
Now I will cut Jason's mother, Kathy some slack because she is trying to protect her son which any good mother would do. She loves her son and she has every right to voice her opinion on what's being said about him. I have my own opinions which are completely different from Kathy's but that not to say she is wrong. I have even said that I believe Jason deserves a new trial and have told him that personally. More importantly, I mean it. Both men in this case were the victims of a corrupt judicial system. I invite Kathy to write an in depth article about her son.
The next person I want to mention doesn't have an AC page but she DOES take great pride in voicing her opinion about herself. I'm talking about Amanda Epps who doesn't give a rat's ass about Jason or Michael; she is too worried about her own precious reputation. She can't form a thought of her own unless it has to do with her. All her responses to the articles in this case have been about Amanda and Amanda only. I take that back, she does take the time to put herself up on a pedestal and tell a law enforcement officer (retired) how naïve and ignorant he is. The rest of us are just pathetic. She even tells us how she has "moved on"! How the hell can anyone "move on" when their testimony help convict two, possibly innocent, men? Wouldn't you want to find out if these guys might be innocent? Not her! Forget what TAZ wrote about her, her own words show what a self centered, piece of shit she really is.
Just today I had a newbie come into the mix and she didn't explain to me what article or comment I made that upset her so. Apparently it's Jason's girlfriend because she goes by the name of "jasons girl". No, I didn't forget to capitalize Jason's name or use proper punctuation, that's just the way she has her page named. So I'm not putting too much stock into what she has to say. She told me that I'm a close minded, hateful person which can be true when it comes to the right person, but she sent it privately so I don't know what she is referring to. She may have been trying to spare me the embarrassment, who knows. She could at least told me what she was pissed about and where I said the thing that bothered her. But no, another coward. There are others I could comment on but at this point you get the idea
What it comes down to is if you feel that strongly about Jason Burkett's or Michael Perry's innocence, take the time to sit down write it all out and publish it. Of course there are going to be people who disagree with you and will be nasty to you (like me). But I have taken some heat about the articles I wrote and I'm still here defending my beliefs and will always defend Michael Perry. You can trash me all you want, I have pretty thick skin and I can bite back. But I will never tell you that you don't have the right to your opinion because you do. I would love to see some articles on Jason's behalf so everyone can get both sides of the story. The closest I've seen is an interview which JD did and it was quite informative and the "Open Letter" that TAZ published. And for those of you who don't want to write and just leave comments, at least have the nuts to use your name and not some catchy code name like "Knowledge of Truth".

Post a CommentI agree with you Taz it is the right thing to do, publishing unedited veiws from both Jason and Michael is fair it is after all their story and their lives, personally I respect both of these boys for the way that they continue to fight to be heard and fight for their lives, no matter what "side" you are on I know we all want the same thing in the end.
here here KD, I look at it this way regardless of who you support these boys deserve new trials. Melyssa sent you a nasty email haha well you get more of a response then I do haha I may have to just write an opinion piece about her or at least directed at her. and Amanda Epps well what can you say about a piece of trash like her. a person that will disregard the fact that she contributed to these boys losing their freedom and just move on.
I will say one thing and that is all the times I've talked to or written Michael, he has never indirectly or directly implicated Jason in these murders. He doesn't know what happened either. He has never said that he thinks Jason committed these crimes and doesn't use Jason as an excuse. He does, however, have a different opinion about Kristin Willis. And by the way TAZ, I want that alibi of yours so I can check it out. Have it on my desk by 2010.
