To Keep Your Dreams Alive Sometimes a Little Patience is Needed

As I pounded on my computer this past week trying to make my book the way I envisioned it, there was a lot of swearing as I had a misunderstanding with my computer. But I remembered to have patience and to persevere and to keep going despite the obstacles ahead of me. With a little quick study, I learned how to coax the poetry book I envisioned out of a little program I call Word 2007. The results are fabulous and well worth the heartache and I have a new respect for anyone who can deal with temperamental computers all day.

The fact that I got anything done today was a testament to my sheer tenacity. I even prayed to God for patience. But it was my dream to be a poet and I wasn't going to let a computer stop me. I used Google's Picasa for photo editing and learned how to work with headers and footers and page layout. And all in all it looks really good. My dad is going to send me a photo he took of me and I hope to use it for the authors photo.

Despite not being J-lo, and people can't seem to get my name right, I know I have a nice name and I am a nice person. So I hope to follow down this road to being a poet with grace and humbleness. I'm just a poet after all. And some people don't give a fig about poetry.

But that doesn't mean some people won't like it. I used to do poetry readings at my University, where I was President of Scribblers Literary Society, and I graduated magna cum laude. I won an award for Excellence in communications and I know about sticking to it. I want to help others to learn to write poetry too. And hope to teach as well as do readings. Maybe be a writing coach.

But I know that whatever I end up doing, it is within me to stick to it and finish it. You can't just leave half your life unpublished if you live and breath poetry like I do. I love the book Love Poems from God

I can't imagine my life without poetry. Its even in the Bible, its so important. So before you give up on your dreams, remember, life has a way of either tearing you to pieces, or making you stronger. Lets grow strong and see some great feats of perseverance out of all of you.
