To Mother, With Love

Mother's Day Poem

Beth Inman
I remember your smile...
I remember the way you would put both arms around me
And just keep me close to you for a while.

When something bothered me you would be up with me all night,
I remember the long talks we would have...
And you not sleeping a wink until everything was alright.

We had fun, you and I,
Sitting on the beach eating ice cream...
Shopping all day
Just for that one special thing.

We would call each other every day like silly little girls,
Swapping jokes and telling stories
Of what we had done that day.
Or we would just listen
to what the other had to say.

Sometimes you made me angry
And I know I didn't leave you real glad.
I know that those few times were but
A small part of the relationship we had.

I remember you Mother,
Each and every Mother's Day.
And I have missed you Mother,
Even more than I can ever say.

Beth, your words are so true! It painted a true picture of a mother daughter relationship, hard to define and could only be felt. Thanks for this. Love..
