They have a variety of plans at different price points that will fit any budget. One of the things that I find very enjoyable is the fact that they offer over 17,000 movies that you can stream directly to your computer or TV instantly. When you rent their DVDs you can keep them as long as you want and there are no late fees assessed, ever.
When I first started renting movies from them, I was a bit apprehensive because I was unfamiliar with how long it would take to get movies, or if there would be problems with the mail, etc. I soon discovered that this was one of the simplest ways to have movies delivered to your home. I know that you can purchase movies on demand, but you only have a limited time that you can view them and Netflix didn't have restrictions on how long you could keep the movies. Of course it helped that Netflix offered a free trial membership so, why not.
What I found was that after ordering a movie you normally received it the next day. When returning a movie, there was about a two day turnaround. I was really surprised. This has been true throughout the couple of years that I have subscribed to their service.
I have a big screen plasma TV and I hook up one of my laptops to the TV to stream the online movies. Works like a charm. I've tried streaming Hulu content to my TV, but for some reason the video is choppy. Netflix, however, is just like viewing a channel from my cable company. The quality and sound are excellent.
I recommend Netflix for their quality and ease of use. One time I thought a movie had gotten lost in the mail. They didn't charge me anything for the movie and sent a replacement. I like how they trust me not to try to rip them off. I have also received damaged DVDs and they were quick to send a replacement. Of course you need to send the damaged DVD back to them, but they make everything basically pretty painless.
If you are planning to be out of town on vacation or business, you can easily suspend your service for up to 90 days during which they will not charge you any fees. You can schedule a return date and they will resume service. All of this is under your account information and you can schedule your stop service on their web site.
All in all Netflix is one of the best companies that I have ever used. I highly recommend them. They still offer free trials. Why not give them a try?

Post a CommentI've been thinking about giving this a try. I'm glad to hear you like it. Thanks.
I love Netflix :)
I love Netflix. I watch it on my xbox. (=
I think Netflix is great! Great selection, and if you have a Netflix ready device (we have the Xbox 360), the experience is all the better with instant streaming. :)
I did a two week thing with them and wasn't impressed. The problem is to get your money's worth you need to watch a lot of movies a week and we don't have time for that. Plus there are only so many 'new' movies to pick from with most of those places. Glad some of you are enjoying it.
We tried the free trial, and we liked it a lot, but Redbox is half the price and not much more trouble to get the movie.
Well written review, Pat.
I rarely get movies, but I've always had Netflix at the back of my mind. If I ever decide to rent movies again I will definitely go with Netflix. (By the way, thank you for commenting on one of my articles. It allowed me a chance to meet you and to welcome you to AC - you're going to love it here - LOTS of really great people make this a GREAT community.)
I, too, subscribe to Netflix and watch streaming video. Forget Hulu, in all honesty. Choppy isn't the word! I think they have poor bandwidth problems.
Oh I totally agree! We just joined Netflix recently, and we are very happy with everything regarding Netflix. We love how we can create a "queue". We're happy with the rapid turnaround of movies. We love how we are sent e-mails from Netflix telling us they received a movie we returned, and how they tell us what movie is being sent to us next. Their website is the most user-friendly I've ever used. I can't say enough good things about Netflix. They definitely got it right.
I just started using Netflix a couple of months ago and love it! It is such an easy way to have access to movies w/o the hassle of returning and dealing with late fees. I totally agree with you!!
