To Be a Rose
To be a rose someone would admire
would be a beautiful thing
One who stands a little higher
and stays in bloom, not just in Spring
To be a rose someone would pick
would be a beautiful thing
Even should thorns their fingers prick
still their heart would sing
To be a rose someone would smell
would be a beautiful thing
Making sure none of her petals fell
protecting her like a queen
To be a rose someone would hold
would be a beautiful thing
shielding her petals from the cold
and it's icy sting
would be a beautiful thing
