To Seymour Johnson Weapons Flight 335th

Letter of Thanks

YCC
Some jobs take a lot to do, and some are just fun. Whether or not being a weapons troop takes a lot to do, or it is just fun for you to do. The service is an important and meaningful experience. As maintenance personnel on the F-15E aircraft, each and every one of you is an integral part to the US's defense of the constitution and war against terrorism. There are many values taught to this job that are very important to the success of the mission. The first of the many teachings is the core values statement. The second thing taught for success is the attention to detail. Third most important value is discipline. The fourth value is self enhancement. The fifth value is perspective otherwise known as ORM. The sixth value is a combination of image and respect for authority otherwise known as professionalism. Then the seventh is the whole person concept. All of these values are actually tied in to compose the ideal military person, but each one has its own importance.

The core values are designed to create a system of beliefs in an airman to allow all to be honest, loyal, and hard working. Attention to detail is supposed to teach them to stay focus and do the job as the TO requires. Discipline is taught so that all may work as one unit and cohesively accomplish a greater goal while staying dedicated to their job, for it takes one step to begin a long journey; discipline teaches all that every step they take is important for them to do their job and help the USAF complete its mission as one. Self enhancement allows all to understand that if they are healthier, smarter, and stronger, then they can contribute more to the mission. ORM is designed to make all think before they act, so it enforces that fact that each individual is important to the team and mission; therefore all must think of the consequences to all they do and whether or not the risk is worth the final goal. Professionalism acknowledges that the military image is very important for individual, military, local, national, and international support; it also means maintaining military bearing even in the face of tragedy, for it explains that all must keep their emotions in check. Those who master professionalism learn to show proper manners and work successfully in the community showing better etiquette than most nonmilitary individuals. Finally, the whole person concept asks all to try to accomplish a lot and to learn how to accomplish the mission, improve their self, and aid the community.

In accepting the contract to join the military, you all agree to focus on these values. There are others, but no matter what job you do, these values pertain to all jobs in the military. Therefore, as thanks to your commitment, sacrifice, focus, and determination, YCC is saying thank you for the weapons flight today. Thank you for working hard. The mission of YCC is to inspire others to do right and be honest through writing, speeches, media, works, and ethics. So please continue to try to make the right choices and sticking to those values indorsed by the military doctrine and please accept this gift of words as just a charitable act to indorse making the right choices and thank you for your military service. Enjoy your lives.
