to Make Wall Art from a Plastic Bottle

Wall art can add a touch of individuality to a room. But it is very often expensive; You can make beautiful, unique wall art from something as simple as an empty plastic bottle.

You will need:

A plastic bottle

Nail polish or paint

Something to hang or attach it to the wall with (screws, sticky pads, etc)

Newspaper

Step 1: Thoroughly wash the plastic bottle in warm water (not too hot or this will cause the plastic to become misshapen) Dry with a tea towel or cloth.

Step 2: Cut the top and bottom off the bottle and cut vertically down the middle.

Step 3: Lay the plastic out as flat as possible (you may need to hold it) on an ironing board. Cover with a sheet of newspaper.

Step 4: With the iron on medium heat, iron the plastic (it should still have the newspaper on it) you will hear it crack and you will feel it move. Keep the iron moving slowly.

Step 5: Take the sheets of paper off; your plastic should have a wonderful bubbled rippled texture. Paint this in whatever colours you desire. Allow to dry and attach to the wall.
