To Whom it May Concern: Read My Lips

Brandon Elliott
My lips are chapped.

But yours are bleeding. As if a balloon full of blood bursted and painted the wall with your DNA. I can't wait to repaint it. Lime green with maybe an accent wall of black.

Or Crimson Red.

I love the color of blood. Sometimes I can see myself in the reflection of a pool of it. Just like the mirror that stares into my soul. It still won't go away. So I lean in for a kiss.

Maybe I'll use tongue.

Not for the kiss. To tell you how I really feel. To tell you how much I despise you. I think I did that once. I think it was a dream. It ended with a cloud of cigarette smoke.

Just like the one trip.

To Disneyworld. I got lost and you didn't even look for me. Mickey Mouse held my hand as Goofy flapped his selfish ears together. They made a noise I will never forget. But you did.

I just forgot.

What time was I supposed to meet you for brunch? What is brunch, anyways? I'd rather just eat alone. I'm not even hungry. My appetite never was selective before.

It is now.

I want more. I want to survive. I shouldn't want. Is there a difference between needing and wanting? Do you need a supportive family or do you want it?

Need.

I'm certain. Goofy told me so. Him and Donald Duck beat me in a game of tug of war. They crushed me actually. Crushed me so bad that I couldn't even move my lips.

But they read them.

They knew what I was thinking. Why didn't you? My lips were quivering. You didn't care. I'm hungry. Please feed me. Can we repaint the walls in my bedroom when we get home?

"I'll think about it."

Interesting. I'll have to wait until the next installment to figure this out. I think CJ's predication may be right.
