To My Wife on Mother's Day
A Poem for a Mother and Grandmother
She is the sweetest woman I have seen
A caring person; nursing is her trade
I first met her when she was but a teen
Her friendship is the best I've ever made.

She once thought she could not be a mother
We soon proved that wasn't to be the case
When we had a girl and then her brother
We've now enjoyed many Mother's Days.
And now she is a grandmother as well
As our daughter has blessed us with two more:
First a boy and then a girl - that's swell!
Who knows what the future will hold in store?
To my wife, who made our family dear,
This day is yours, as is throughout the year!
