Toads Kill Carp While Mistakingly Trying to Mate with Them

At Wykeham Lakes, the manager Mike Heelis states: "Toads have always come to our lakes to do what they do naturally - but this year there were thousands of them, jumping on anything that moved." Apparently as the carp were basking in the sun, the toads would clamp on to them and drag them to the bottom. Wow guess it was "horny toads" Sounds like a mirror of some local bars/clubs.

The Orangutan and the Tabby

When a forty five year old Sumatran orangutan lost her lifelong mate, she was obviously heartbroken it can clearly be seen in this video. Some how Stephanie Willard, a worker at the zoo where the orangutan resides in Panama City, Fla. came up with the idea to give the Orangutan a new mate....the kitten. She is now a happy proud momma.

The Hippo and the Tortoise

Wildlife rescuers saved the Hippo after a tsunami, and brought it to a wildlife facility. Unfortunately Hippos are social creatures. The typical amount of time they stay with their mother is four years, so at one year old, this Hippo was an orphan. Luckily at the refuge, the hippo adopted a new mom...a hundred year old tortoise. They do everything together. It's now a year later and they are just as close as ever. What a pair!

The Human and the Lizards

OK last but not least gotta add that oddball human in the mix! A man from Germany decided to smuggle forty four lizards from New Zealand. Where did he hide them? Well in his underwear of course! Good thing he wasn't trying to smuggle those toads, that'd be a story definitely inappropriate for here!
