Whether you are visiting or live in the area Toby's Dinner Theatre of Baltimore needs to be on your list of things to do. Toby's is a one-of-a-kind dining experience providing delicious dinner choices on the buffet including (but not limited to) shrimp, baked fish, baked chicken, ham, turkey, carved Steamship Round, a 25 item salad bar that is the freshest in town, and add to that fruit, cheese and an assortment of desserts! Not enough? That's ok! There is plenty more to choose from and Toby's also offers a vegetarian friendly selection.

At Toby's the Chef selects each menu specifically to compliment the dinner show so there is always a variety. The website, TobysDinnerTheatre.com lists the menu choices and this writer recommends going to the website to see just what they are serving.

Being located in downtown Baltimore at 5625 O'Donnell Street in the Best Western Hotel and Conference Center helps make this a nice weekend get-away. Toby's and Best Western offer hotel packages with special rates for Toby's customers.

The food is great - but the show is fantastic! Usually the shows run for a month or two giving you plenty of opportunity to book an evening. Oh, wait! Toby's also offers a Sunday Matinee Brunch that is to die for. Eggs, pancakes, Steamship round, baked Tilapia, fresh vegetables, pastries, bagels, Virginia baked ham - just to name a few of the items. All that's left to say is Yummers! - And let's eat!

Tickets start at $48.50 per adult for the Sunday Brunch and Matinee, $34.50 for children. The evening shows vary in price, from $50.50 to $54.00 per adult, $34.50 to $54.00 per child with information readily available through the website, TobysDinnerTheatre.com as well as through Ticketmaster.com.

Now, on the the show! Each show is a wonderful mix of music with instrumentals and vocals, as well as incredibly talented actors playing out the parts from some of the best musicals one could hope to see. The upcoming performances for the last few months of 2009 and into January 2010 include Elton John and Tim Rice's "AIDA",(showing until November 15th, 2009) and a Christmas production beginning November 24th based on the musical "Meet Me In St. Louis". All of the shows are full of musical numbers right out of Broadway and the talented performers keep you mesmerized till the end.

Toby's also has a location in Columbia Maryland at 5900 Symphony Woods Rd., and all the information regarding times, prices and food are listed on their website - TobysDinnerTheatre.com. (Coming to the Columbia location starting in November of 2009 is the musical rendition of "Annie", that little, lovable orphan in search of a family.)

The atmosphere is kid friendly (although there is a cash bar) ,and kids of all ages love the ice cream sundae portion of the buffet table. There is generous time alloted for eating so a family won't be rushed to finish because of the show. Considering the price includes a full meal created by trained Chefs, and a great evening filled with music and hours of entertainment Toby's is a bargain for a couple, family, or in this writers case, an individual.
