Today, as Everyday
Happy Mother's Day
I figured I'd write you a poetic letter,
though I'll be calling you today,
as I do everyday.
Your grandchild sends her love,
remembering the puppet show, and time with you to play.
Expect a box in the mail,
some great music selections from a sweet writer online, Maxine.
I had to add just one more song, "I Need You Now" for the laughter with you and Sara,
the little singing, dancing queen.
I saved a copy for me to listen to here,
so even when we're far away, it will still feel like you're near.
Dearest Mom,
I figured I'd write you a poetic letter,
though I call you about nothing sometimes, just to call everyday.
I had a dream lastnight I whipped you in a game of rummy!
You drew silly pictures on our scoreboard, sore loser, ha ha,
then big sis' came in with her song rendition, dressed like "Lady Gaga."
We recoiled and you cooked up something yummy!
Dearest Mom,
I figured I'd write you a poetic letter,
though I love to drive you crazy with telephone calls daily.
Just for some laughs, good times this past winter in the north, stuck in because of snow.
I'm way back in the south, and its like summer here, if I can make enough to bring you here for a trip,
oh you may want to stay, and that's okay, maybe I won't let ya go!!!!
Dearest Mom,
I love you, listen to the music and think of the kiddo and me,
I'll call you later today,
as I do everyday,
so we can talk and we can laugh.
