Today is the last day to vote in Mashable's Open Web Awards. If you are active on social networking sites such as Twitter or Facebook, then you will likely have opinions on the nominations.

Mashable's Open Web Awards: Social Media edition is an online competition recognizing innovations in web technology and social media. This year, the third annual Open Web Awards contain 500 nominations in 50 categories.

Mashable's Open Web Awards: Twitter

According to the Mashable's announcement, Open Web Awards nominations for Twitter included companies such as Smart Cares, Digsby, Kikikannibal, and Milford Equity Living NY, news sources such as Tweetepedia, The Onion, CNN, and Politico.

Most interesting Twitter users included Paul Coelho, Alyssa Milano, and Donnie Wahlberg. Alyssa Milano had also earned nominations in several categories including best actor/actress and best celebrity to follow. I'm surprised Miley Cyrus didn't a receive an Open Web Award nod for her infamous exist from Twitter.

Mashable's Open Web Awards: Facebook

Facebook applications such as Mafia Wars, Cafe World, and FarmVille received Open Web Awards nominations. Best Facebook fan pages included Twilight, Paul Coelho, and The Office while sites such as Girls Guide To, JibJab, and Gaia Online received Open Web Awards nominations for Most Creative Uses of Facebook Connect.

Mashable's Open Web Awards: Others

Other sites such as MySpace, YouTube, and Flickr received Open Web Award nods as well. The Peoples Choice Awards received a nomination for its MySpace ad campaign. YouTube videos such as Neda (the wounded girl in Tehran) and the Jonas Brothers' Bounce also received nods. Flickr photos such as One Sad Puppy and Barack Obama's first day in office.

Given that I'm more active on Facebook than I am on Twitter, I probably won't be voting in too many of the Twitter categories. I'll probably vote for a few of my favorite Facebook games including Mafia Wars, FarmVille, and CafeWorld. As for YouTube, as enjoyable as the Jonas Brothers were in their rendition of Bounce, I'll have to cast my vote for Neda and her bravery.

The complete list of Open Web Awards nominees is available on Mashable. You have until 11:59 ET tonight to vote.
