Today I saw a soul going to heaven. Thursday January 15, 2004

A co worker and friend Mr. Johnson died recently from cancer. He has been battling this for 6 years and now he is at home with the Lord.

The day he died, I prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel that morning to save his soul. I didn't know he was going to die that day. I was even planning to visit him after 12 noon Mass, but things did not work out for me to do this. And then in the afternoon I found out that he passed away at just about the time I was going to visit him.

The next morning at 7:30am Mass, during the prayers of the faithful, I was remembering to pray for his soul and at that very same moment another man named Ed prayed out loud for him. "I pray for my neighbor Mr. Johnson who passed away yesterday." Wow, is that amazing or what?!?

Again I prayed for him, during the consecration, as the priest was saying the prayers of institution.

After Mass, I talked to Ed and told him about my relationship with Mr. Johnson. And we both were amazed at the coincidence.

As I was leaving the church, I looked up at the sky. The sun was just rising above the horizon, and the most beautiful sunrise it was. A giant bright orange beam of light was shining from the top of the sun way up into the middle of the morning's blue sky. And two other bright orange beams were shining out from the left and the right of the sun. It looked like the top of a brightly shining cross, I thought to myself.

A woman from Mass was expressing her amazement. I told her, " I bet if we could see below the horizon right there, we could see the bottom of that cross. Her husband commented in all of his 80 years, he had never seen anything like that. And I said that I'm only 37 and I am seeing this for the first time.

As I was walking to my car and looking at the sun, God revealed something incredible to my soul. "That is a soul going to heaven." As this was being revealed to me the orange beam going up from the top of the sun slowly became golden. And again God revealed to me, that is the state of Jerry's. And you are seeing his soul going to heaven right now." Just then, I knew it was because Ed and I prayed for him during the Mass and because I prayed for Mr. Johnson's soul to be saved with the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Jerry was now leaving purgatory for heaven. Just as I understood this, an incredible flood of emotions came over me and I wept with pure joy. "I am seeing Mr. Johnson's soul going to heaven." and I looked up in to the clouds above me as saw orange and gold colors in them too. It was his entire life in the sky being purified before the Lord.

This experience lingered for 5 - 8 minutes and as I traveled to work it began to fade. I began to contemplate, this marvelous thing has happened and I am the only one in the whole world to see it. Oh how I wish they all could see this. It is truly wonderful to behold. A soul going to heaven.
