Today's Attire for Our Young Females

The last time you went to a mall there was at least one young lady that was wearing something inappropriate. Most of our daughters adolescent years we spend telling them they don't need make-up and try to explain that they are beautiful the way they are. No need for improvement. I think we as a society are conveying mixed messages.

When out shopping with your daughter you look for clothes that you find appropriate. Not an easy task. How is it that these large companies can put out such revealing clothing in size 8-10 for girls? The answer is simple. If consumers stopped buying then the market for this type of apparel would not be in demand therefor not being produced.

Many mothers will allow their daughters to wear what the other girls in school are wearing. Personally I disagree. Those cute little pants that have sayings across the butt, I find absolutely repulsive for a child to wear. In this day and age why would you want to put your daughter on display for any man. That may sound a little harsh, but please understand. Allowing your child to wear a pair of pants that say "DIVA" across her bottom only draws attention to her bottom. Let me try to explain a little better. If a woman or man is wearing a tee shirt with writing on you automatically at least glance at it if not read it. It's natural. Now, back to the pants. What do you think people are doing? Exactly, reading what they say.

Not to insinuate about pedophiles but I would think that they may be a little bit more prone to temptation if they see an advertisement. Are you positive that your daughter can handle unwanted compliments or advances? They can be from friends, strangers and even acquaintances. I know we cannot protect our children at all times but I will never stop trying.
