Todd McFarlane and Clive Barker's Infernal Parade

John Vann
The first thing that we need to get out of the way when talking about Todd McFarlane and Clive Barker's Infernal Parade line of action figures is that these are absolutely not designed for children. These are two very creative minds that have created another line of exceptionally detailed, extremely graphic and horrific action figures known as the Infernal Parade. As such, you will see all of the well-known faces you would see at any circus, parade or amusement park - with a sinister twist, of course. Each figure comes with its own rolling parade cart, which can all be hooked together to form the complete Infernal Parade.

First in this line of action figures, which was released in September of 2004 is The Sabbaticus. This display depicts a small circus worker in quite a precarious position as he is gazing into the wide open mouth of a large, disgusting alien-like beast.

Next in the parade is Bethany Bled, the lady imprisoned in the iron maiden. A beautiful black-haired lady in a black bra and underwear stands calmly behind the giant spikes inside the iron maiden. The doors are open for all of the circus attendees to gawk at in their own amusement.

An entire Family of Freaks is also included in this set, and they are the next in line. Of course, the entire family is forever encased in glass medical jars and tubes, making them perhaps the sickest attraction of all in this Infernal Parade.

Tom Requiem is probably the leader of the group, as he is more able-bodied than the rest. Make no mistake however; he is just as sinister and wicked as any other attraction in the Infernal Parade. With his face painted and dressed in evil clown rags, he stands on top of his rolling parade cart holding up the burlap Infernal Parade flag for all to see.

Mary Slaughter is the spike swallower, and this is my favorite figure in this series - and it is without a doubt the most depraved. This piece depicts an almost nude tattooed woman, with her head tilted back as she is swallowing a sword. Underneath, her own feet grasp a knife, pointed upwards towards her groin.

And the last attraction of Todd McFarlane and Clive Barker's Infernal Parade is none other than the Golem Elijah. Trapped in a devious looking steel hamster cage of sorts, the Golem Elijah's twisted and mutilated arms reach out of the cage, hoping to grasp onto any unsuspecting onlooker.
