Todd McFarlane's Twisted Land of Oz

In this article we will look at another popular line of grotesque, horror-themed action figures that have been developed by Spawn creator Todd McFarlane. Set 2 of the McFarlane's Monsters action figure series is called the Twisted Land of Oz, and as you might expect from the name - this Todd McFarlane's very own twisted, depraved look at the classic tale of The Wizard of Oz. Released in September of 2003, this line of action figures is not for the squeamish, and most certainly not recommended for children - these classical characters of Oz depicted here are all caught in some very compromising situations, to say the least.

First and foremost, we will take a look at Dorothy. Blindfolded with her hands bound behind her back and wearing a rather skimpy red leather outfit with platform boots, we've certainly never seen the innocent young girl of Oz like this before. Two twisted, depraved munchkins dance around her, poking and prodding at the helpless Dorothy with sticks.

Next is the Lion - though this isn't the cowardly one we are all familiar with. Instead, McFarlane's version of the lion of Oz is a ferocious, intimidating beast with matted hair and huge, blood-thirsty fangs and enormous, razor sharp claws.

Scarecrow isn't exactly in the best shape of his life, either. Perched on his wooden pole, the stuffing that makes up his insides are being pulled out by hungry ravens that are gnawing at his clothes.

The Tin Woodman is a strange abomination, a golem constructed of various bits of wood and scrap metal. He carries a large, rusty axe for anybody in Oz who wishes to cross his path.

Toto is all grown up now - and what a hideous, disgusting creature he has become! Resembling somewhat of a twisted, over-bloated swine, Todd McFarlane's incarnation of Toto the dog is being ridden by a disgusting, spindly munchkin.

Last in the series of The Twisted Land of Oz is none other than the Wizard - and he comes with a munchkin scientist, as well. The wizard is decked out in emerald green threads and sports a gas mask covering his face, and goat horns extend from the back of his head.

Remember, in no way is this line of action figures intended for children. It is meant strictly for mature adults who are 17 years or older - and it is for good reason. Horror-themed action figures by Todd McFarlane are always disgusting and depraved - and this is set is absolutely no different.
