Toddler Behaviors Amongst Third-Worlders

Angie Grey
If a child feels that the world loves the child, than the child will also love the world that he or she is a part of.

Overall, children in third-world nations require proper food, drink, love, hygiene, personal space, clothing, shelter, and sleep just like everyone else does. Most of the children who have survived the first three years of existence in a third-world nation, will, overall, be more cautious and more aware of their surroundings, unless the toddler has been afflicted with brain damage due to improper handling, extreme dehydration, extremely bad nutrition, or improper medical care.

Toddlers who are given enough care and adequate food, water, clothing, hygiene, shelter and medical care thrive. This will happen whether the children are public schooled or home schooled. The parents, guardians and mentors of these children want the young to live better than they lived, in general.

There are enough volunteers overseas who are able to teach children to read. The problem is, in many cases, having the children adequately fed, washed, and clothed in order to be able to attend classes at a local makeshift school.

Seeing the children a few times per month, in order to administer exams, is necessary, even in the case of home schooled children. These children do much better on their exams when they get proper nutrition, rest, and feel much better about their test-taking abilities when they are well-dressed and well-outfitted for their school exams. The children actually score higher on the tests when they look good, their self-image is affected by how clean they are and how nicely they are dressed.

Children have needs that must be fulfilled on a daily basis in order for these children to grow and thrive. In the global economy, no child can be left behind.
