Treasure Hunt
Start by creating a colorful treasure hunt list. Draw pictures of what guests will be looking for. Speaking of which, be sure to choose items that are colorful and relatively large in size, as they are often easier to spot.
Make sure that you have enough items for each guest to find. For example, if your party consists of 12 toddlers, hide 12 red-colored blocks and so forth.
For added fun and excitement, turn this simple birthday party game into a pirate adventure. You can purchase pirate hats and eye patches from party supply or costume stores, print them from online resources or make your own.
Pass the Parcel
Pass the parcel is a birthday party game that is an alternative to handing out traditional party goodie bags. Start by purchasing a few presents. Dollar store toys, books, coloring books and puzzles are a great idea. Wrap each item multiple times.
Next, have all party guests sit in a circle. Ask the toddlers to unwrap each present once and then pass it onto the next child. The toddler who finally unwraps the gift gets to keep it.
As an added tip, wrap each present a different number of times and always start with the same child. This will help to ensure that each toddler gets a gift.
Ball Toss
Start by taking a traditional pail, basket or laundry basket. Decorate it with balloons, colorful construction paper and stickers to create a festive birthday party theme. Next, get a collection of balls. You can use those that you may already have in your home.
Place the basket or pail a reasonable distance away from the children. Each toddler who successfully tosses the ball in can either get a prize or an enthusiastic praise.
As an added tip, visit your local discount store or dollar store and purchase a ball for each toddler, which can later be taken home.
Piñata
Piñatas are a great birthday party game, but it is one that some parents tend to avoid due to costs. Aside from buying a piñata at a party supply store, there is a much cheaper alternative.
This alternative involves decorating a lunch-sized paper bag with either paint, markers, stickers and glitter. Fill the bag with candy and strongly secure with a rope. Next, let the children have fun with a wiffle ball bat or a stick.
For parties that are large in size, two or three piñatas may be needed to ensure that each toddler gets a swing.

I think that the treasure hunt idea is really much more suited to preschoolers, but the ball toss is perfect for toddlers
Great tip about the clipart; I never thought ot that. I great alternative. Lol, as you can tell, I really can't draw very well. Thanks for the tip.
These are great ideas. For the treasure hunt games, if you can't draw, you can use clip art to show what the items look like.
Some great ideas!
