While I really enjoy practicing yoga, the one thing that bothers me about it is that I cannot wear socks while I'm doing it because my feet slide all over the place. This discourages me from doing yoga at home in the winter because it is too cold to be in the house without socks on. I also do not enjoy being barefoot at the yoga studio where other bare feet have been walking around for years. There are warts and many other germs that you can pick up from being barefoot. These socks come in handy when I am traveling a borrowing a yoga mat from someone else. Also, they help when it is hot outside and your sweaty feet would normally slip all over the mat.
Recently, I found the perfect product to help me with this discouraging problem. The ToeSox Yoga-Pilates Toe Socks with Grips are specially made socks with non-slip bottoms for yoga and Pilates. They sell for about $15 per pair and you can get them from amazon.com.
The socks come in four sizes: extra small, small, medium, and large. As a woman with size 8 feet, I find that the smalls fit me perfectly. You don't want them to be too big because you're your feet will slide around inside, defeating the point. They also come in a variety of colors so you can match them to your workout outfit. There is black, green bleu stripe, grey, pink, purple stripe, tan, and white. They are 90% cotton and 10% spandex so they shape very well to your feet.
The socks have separate toes which is important in yoga socks because this allows you to strengthen the muscles in the foot in a way you would not be able to if your toes were all attached.
My ToeSocks have been used about three times a week for six months now. They are washed once a week and seem to be holding up well. However, the nubs are starting to wear off in some places like the big toe and under the ball of my food. Overall, I enjoy using these socks so much that I will be willing to purchase a new pair when these wear out.
