Tom Brady in Car Accident [VIDEO] Crash with Repeat Offender & Hit [PHOTOS] 1 Hospitalized

At 6:30 this morning Tom Brady was in a car accident while heading to Gillete Stadium for practice. The accident happened on the corner of Commonwealth and Gloucester Avenue, where witnesses say a red minivan carrying 3 people ran a red light. Tom Brady was driving through the intersection on a green light, which caused him to T Bone the van. The car crash then knocked over a pole. Witnesess said, "Brady was traveling south on Gloucester Street and approaching the intersection on a green light when his black Audi collided with a fast-moving red Ford Aerostar that was westbound on Commonwealth Avenue. The red car went up in the air, sideways. ... The tire was half off." Tom Brady told police, "He attempted to swerve, but was unable to, and his vehicle struck the passenger side of the minivan."

After the accident Tom felt fine and refused medical attention, but one injured passenger in the van had to be cut out with the "jaws of life". WHDH TV says, "An elderly man was extricated from the vehicle and taken out on a stretcher to Brigham and Women's Hospital, according to reports. The man's son was the driver of the minivan, according to witnesses." TMZ says the injured passenger left with "serious injuries", and since the accident happened Brady has been trying to check on the injured mans condition. Cops ticketed 21 year old Ludgero Rodrigues, the driver of the van for "failing to stop at a red light". See video of Tom after the car accident and photos of the scene.

Ludergo told police he had a green light when he went through the intersection, but witnesses say it wasn't. Turns out this isn't Ludergo's first accident. The Boston Globe says, "Rodrigues had a lengthy driving record, including a charge of drunken driving after a November 2009 crash in New Bedford. Due to repeated infractions, he had already taken a driver safety class in 2008. His other violations included driving an uninspected vehicle, driving without a license, failure to signal, failure to use seat belts. failure to..." Read the rest here.

Right after Brady's accident the team tweeted, "Brady was in a car accident this morning. He was not hospitalized and is expected at Gillette Stadium today." At practice his teammates said he "appeared to be fine, and should be ready to go on Sunday."
