Statistically, Tom Brady is on a pace to approach or surpass every major quarterback record. He's already more than halfway past John Elway's completion total, and he's only played seven full seasons. In terms of passing yards, Tom Brady is halfway past Elway as well, and nearly halfway to Brett Favre's record. He's well on his way to the passing touchdown record. In the 2007-08 season, Tom Brady set the single season record for passing touchdowns.
Some will point out that Tom Brady's contemporary, Peyton Manning, has better career stats, but it must be noted that Manning has played three years more than Tom Brady.
Tom Brady has some of the most incredible abilities you have ever seen. He somehow knows where every player on the field is at any moment. If you watch him, you'll see him passing to receivers after a mere glance, or reacting to players coming at him from behind his back. There's no way he could have seen these players, yet he knew where they were.
Granted, many great quarterbacks have similar skills. But what sets Tom Brady apart from other great quarterbacks is not his stats, amazing as they are. It is his success. Tom Brady already has a ring on more than half the fingers on his left hand, in only seven full seasons. At age 30, he will play at least another five seasons, and probably more. Most will be under head coach Bill Belichick, and the two of them have established themselves as the greatest leadership duo in all of sports. Watching teams rally around Belichick and Tom Brady shows you just how much Tom Brady's talent transcends on-field performance.
Currently, Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana are tied for the most Super Bowl wins by a quarterback, with four. Tom Brady is well on his way to shattering that record.
You may choose to point out that Tom Brady has a great team surrounding him, and that may make him look better than he is. There is truth to that, but don't forget the state of the Patriots when Tom Brady came in. In 2000, the Patriots were 5-11. They were 25th out of 31 in points scored, and 17th in points allowed. Suffice it to say, they were a mess. Then came Tom Brady, who in one season turned the Patriots from a joke to a Super Bowl winner - and remember, that Super Bowl win was a tremendous upset. In that year, Tom Brady didn't have the stellar team he does now.
And let's not forget his ability to win the big game. Nobody is or ever was more of a clutch performer than Tom Brady.
Move over, Dan Marino. Tom Brady is headed for the top.

I can tell you're a fan, but you're right on a lot of points. Peyton Manning has played three years longer than Tom Brady, but is also only a year older. If Manning and Brady both retire at the same age, Brady will only play one year past Manning, so Peyton stands a better chance to capture some of those records since his totals are already higher than Brady's. Brady has to have some very successful seasons in his future to pass those records. Then again, if Brett Favre did it, so can Brady.
