Earlier in the day, Tom was interviewed on radio station Weei's, Dennis & Callahan Show...an interview heard weekly on what the station calls, "Patriots' Monday." Tom is pretty loose in these interviews, he jokes with the programs two hosts, but never really hints at anything the Patriots and coach Belichick are planning.
Yesterday was a little bit different, and seemed to catch Dennis and Callahan off-guard. It caught this listener off-guard as well. When Tom was asked about his leg, he was vague, but mentioned this time of year (late in the season), players being nicked and dinged, treatments being taken, and that the only way he would be out of the Super Bowl was if he was on a stretcher. I was briefly puzzled, and then passed it off, for this was more casual informational chatter, than a direct answer. But, it did seem like more information than Tom Brady usually gave.
The next video from TMZ, again featured Tom, this time in cowboy boots. He was heading out for dinner, accompanied by a member of the Patriots' staff. I have no idea if Gisele and others were present (although I'm sure they were); I only looked at Tom's boot!
How much of an effect will the leg and foot, filling that boot, have on Super Bowl XLII? That is the question on the minds of Patriots' fans, Giants' fans, unaligned fans, and odds-makers in Las Vegas. Apparently, the answer is, none.
According to WCVB, Channel 5 in Boston, the Boston Herald newspaper, is reporting that Tom Brady has a minor high ankle sprain. The boot is more or less a protective measure, and will not limit Tom Brady's performance in the Super Bowl. Whew, that's a relief.
The Patriots' preparation will continue as usual, in secret. Prying information out of the folks in Foxboro rivals obtaining information from the CIA...it's just not going to happen!
