Tomorrow

"Do Not Put Off Tomorrow What You Can Do Today."

Benjamin Ira Mikell
On more than one occasion, we have heard this saying in one form or another. It is something that is worth examining.

We must first understand that God does not guarantee we will see the sun rise in the morning. He gives it to us as a blessing. Therefore, each day we are given we must use it to the best of our ability. The apostle Paul writes, "Redeeming the time, because the days are evil," (Ephesians 5:16).

When we wake up in the morning, we need to thank God in prayer for granting us another day to live for Him and ask Him for guidance so that we will be able to avoid every trap that Satan has secretly placed in our pathway to Heaven. In addition, before we go to sleep, we need to thank God for granting us another day to serve Him and ask to bless us with tomorrow if it is His will.

The apostle James wrote about those who believed they had believed they could delay getting things done until tomorrow. "Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what [shall be] on the morrow. For what [is] your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye [ought] to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that," (James 4:13-15).

With these thoughts in mind, let us go forth and make the best use of our time today for we do not know what tomorrow may bring us. It may be another day for serving the Lord or it may be the end of our days here on earth.
