Tom's of Maine Natural Toothpaste for Kids Product Review

Silly Strawberry Flavor

Tara Van Ness
Tom's Of Maine has always been one of the favorite brands in our family, because we can trust that Tom's will deliver a quality product, often with eco-friendly packaging and ingredients we can trust to be all natural.

When my daughter was ready to graduate from her toddler toothpaste to a kid's toothpaste, we considered our natural options. She loves strawberry, so we settled on Tom's Of Maine natural anti-cavity fluoride toothpaste in the flavor of Silly Strawberry. I really like the fact that this Tom's Of Maine product, like others, is all natural, and does not contain saccharin, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, colors, or flavors. We are a family of strict vegetarians, so we really appreciate the fact that Tom's Of Maine doesn't use animal products and that they are able to achieve and maintain quality standards by not testing on animals.

It also has fluoride, which we researched and decided was a good idea for our daughter. Fluoride is debated, and Tom's does make a non-fluoride toothpaste that I use, but for children still developing good brushing habits, we like that Tom's Of Maine offers a fluoride kid's toothpaste. It is also an accepted toothpaste by the American Dental Association's Council of Scientific Affairs, which maintains that Tom's Of Maine kids' Silly Strawberry toothpaste is effective at preventing cavities.

Kid Tested

The tube of Tom's Of Maine Natural kid's toothpaste is cute and well designed. It is red and white with strawberries on it and a little bird sitting on a toothbrush. It also has a design that allows it to sit upright on the counter. As far as taste, our daughter really loves this toothpaste. So much so, that she always wants to brush her teeth. Parents have to be careful that children don't swallow toothpaste because fluoride can be dangerous if too much is ingested. Tom's Of Maine natural fluoride toothpaste for kids is a toothpaste better suited for children over four years old, in my recommendation. It tastes like a strawberry treat, which is great for getting kids to brush. The only negative I would have is that it is quite expensive, coming in at over $4 a tube where we live. However, if you are only using it for a child, you only use a small amount so the toothpaste lasts a long time.

The price, however, is a small price to pay for piece of mind that we are getting a natural product that our child loves.
