Tom's of Maine Natural Whole Care Anti-Cavity & Tartar Control Plus Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste

A Review

Gwendolyn Taylor
Living in an increasingly health-conscious society, I am always looking for products that are beneficial to me and the environment. That's when I came across Tom's of Maine "Natural Whole Care Anti-Cavity & Tartar Control plus Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste." Since pretty much everyone brushes their teeth at least twice a day, each day adds up with the consumed amount of chemicals and synthetic ingredients that regular toothpastes are comprised of. Although, one may try to rinse their mouth as thoroughly as they can to get rid of any remaining toothpaste residue, it almost never is completely gone and is soon ingested.

What primarily caught my eye is that this toothpaste is made of natural ingredients and still delivers the same results as other leading toothpaste brands, just without the harmful latent effects. It contains naturally sourced fluoride for prevention of cavities, zinc citrate (a natural occurring mineral) for tartar control, natural silica (derived from sand) for teeth whitening, and spearmint and peppermint oils to give your mouth a clean and fresh feeling. The great thing about this toothpaste is that it does not contain saccharin (known to cause cancer and is present in many regular toothpastes), artificial sweeteners, preservatives, colors, or flavors. It also does not contain any animal ingredients and it not tested on animals. This comes in a 5.2 oz tube and an additional plus is that this product comes in recyclable packaging, so you are also helping out the planet.

After using this, my teeth actually feel cleaner compared to the other well-known brand toothpastes that I have tried. It is also a good feeling knowing that I'm not harming my body by using this toothpaste. The only downside of this product is the price. Like most other natural and healthy products, this does cost a bit more than other regular toothpastes. This product is available at mass merchandise stores, health food stores, and drug stores and usually retails for four dollars. Yet, if you consider it, it is actually only about one dollar or a dollar fifty more than other name brand toothpastes. That is definitely worth it for your health in the long run and I will definitely be buying this kind of toothpaste from now on.
