I had never been in love but Toni Braxton's way of singing her love songs, made me want to at least be in love just once. In 1993, I stumbled upon her self-titled album only because I wanted to hear "Seven Whole Days", a song that I often heard on the radio. Turns out that there were a few other songs that would wind up on my life's soundtrack and forever on the Billboard music charts.
1. Love Should've Brought You Home (1992-Boomerang Soundtrack)- This number one hit debut on the "Boomerang" movie soundtrack. This is about the belief in love and how love should persuade you to follow through on your commitments. "Love should've brought you home, you home last night. You should've been with me. Should've been right by my side...."
2. You Mean The World To Me (1993-Self-Titled Album)- If you can't put into words what you need to say to someone that you love with all of your might, this song says it. "You mean the world to me, you are my everything. I swear the only thing that matters, matters to me...."
3. Breath Again (1993-Self-Titled Album)- In desperation, you feel as if you lost the love of a certain person, you wouldn't be able to breath, this song says just that. "...And I can't stop thinking about, about the way my life would be, and I can't stop thinking about, how could you love me then leave..."
4. Another Sad Love Song (1993-Self-Titled Album)- During a break-up, the worst possible thing that could happen is when a love says the exact words that you feel, which makes you feel even worse. "It's just another sad love song rocking my brain like crazy and I'm all torn up. Be it fast or slow, it doesn't let go or shake me, and it's all because of you."
5. How Many Ways I Love (1993-Self-Titled Album)- Addicted to love songs? This is a sweet, soft soulful song that lists the ways. "One, two, I love you. Three, Four, So much more. Five, Six. I can't get enough, get enough of this. Seven, let me show you my love and take you to heaven. Eight, nine, ten, let's start love over and over and over and over, again."
6. You're Making Me High (1996-Secrets)- To launch the album, this video aired and it was lots of "sexy" everywhere. With bass guitars starting t
7. Un-Break My Heart (1996-Secrets)-This deep melody had the longest run on the billboard charts at the number one spot. The depth and "cry" these lyrics possessed is the reason why. "Un-break my heart. Say you love me again. Undo this hurt that you caused, when you walked out the door and walked out of my life. Un-cry these tears, I've cried so many nights, Un-break my heart..."
8. Spanish Guitar (2000-Heat)- The lyrics were R&B but the melody was full of Latin spirit. "...I wish you'd hold me in your arms, Like that Spanish guitar, All night long all night long, I'd be your song Id be your song
9. He Wasn't Man Enough (2000-Heat)- Whether through sadness or revenge, apparently he wasn't man enough and in this song, these words are woman-to-woman. "...Stop blaming me. He wasn't man enough for me, If you don't know now here's your chance, I've already had your man...."
10. Hit The Freeway (2002-More Than A Woman)- Fusing R&B with Hip-Hop with an appearance by rapper Loon from the Bad Boy Family, this was a dance hit that climbed the charts very fast. "...You didn't treat me right, so long, good-bye, good night. I don't ever want to see you again. So hit the freeway..."

Post a CommentI've also been looking for the Toni Braxton cover of "i will survive' Its the total opposite from Gloria Gaynors original which is very disco. Toni Braxton slows it down to an old school rnb groove. It sounds great, just wish i could find it. Can anyone help??
Do any one know the lyrics to Toni Braxton's song I will survive?
