Crooner, Singer, Painter, Gifted Individual

Tony Bennett was born and raised in New York, NY and began his singing career very early. He developed his singing technique thoroughly throughout the years and signed up for the service. After getting released, he signed a contract with Columbia. Tony Bennett has had a variety of hits. Some of which are my favorite songs to date. He premiered at number 1 with Because of You and had countless other successful hits throughout his career.

Bennett, though out of the scene for a long time, made a coming back appearance in the 80s and 89s, putting out some very influential work which earned him 100,000 record sales and qualified him as a gold record holder. Bennett has won tons of awards, including fifteen grammys, two emmys, and been named a Jazz master by the N.E.A. and Kennedy Center Honoree. He's sold over 50 million records throughout his lifetime. He also dabbled in painting. If you see a painting unde the name Benedetto, it's Tony Bennett's painting "pen" name.

Tony Bennett began his sinigng career as a Crooner, and was warned not to try and impersonate Frank Sinatra from one of his close friends. He made his way through the industry by singing jingles for commercials. Tony Bennett's songs were virally spread through jukeboxes, and caught on through bar and clubs throughout the U.S. In order to produce and bring his music to a wider audience, he collaborated with Hank Williams on the song Cold. Cold Heart.

Bennett has played many theatres, including one of the most famous, the Paramount Theater in New York. Astoundingly, in order to achieve his goals, Benett sometimes did seven shows a day for weeks at a time. His tireless efforts rewarded him in becoming one of the most successful crooners to date and his music will live on forever.

As far as Bennett's romantic life goes, he married an Ohio art student and huge crooner and jazz fan, Patricia Beech, and had two sons of their own, Daegal and D'Andrea. Weird names, but hey, who am I to judge. It's also weird that Gwynneth Paltrow's daughter's name is Apple. (bet you didn't know that one).Source: Wikipedia.com, TonyBennett.net
