Tony Romo: The Cowboy Star in Dallas

Romo is Dangerous

WriterzBlock
On a Monday Night game against the New York Giants at the last closing minutes, Bill Parcells made the call. He requested Drew Bledsoe, #11, to sit the rest of the game out and bring in a rookie quarterback. But Tony Romo was no rookie and no joke. Within two minutes of the closing game against the Giants he had put up better numbers than Bledsoe, who played the majority of the game. From then on from week eight and into the rest of the season, Romo would take the starting lead of as #1 quarterback. He came in at the fourth quarter, promising danger to other teams in the rest of the season. It was a great display and at the end of the night he threw 14/25 for 227 yards with 2 TD's and 3 Interception; not bad for two minutes and some change.

Romo, 26, from San Diego California, is a young and solid quarterback who offers much promise to the Dallas Cowboys in the coming. At 6'2 225lbs, Romo is of average size but has incredible ability on the field. As long as the Cowboys offensive line can protect him, he will be threat to any team he goes up against. With the backing of elite receivers in #81 Terrell "T.O." Owens, and #83 Terry Glenn, Romo has options on the field. For a young quarterback, so far Romo has done a fantastic job of opening up secondary defenses and using his raw talent to pick teams apart.

For week 9, November 5th 2006, Tony Romo was the talk of the town in Dallas and D.C. as he started again; solidifying Bill Parcell's decision. In Romo's third consecutive start against the Washington Redskins, he through for 284 yards, 24/36 with 2 TD receptions. It was almost a Cowboy victory, until the Redskins put up a spirited 47-yard field goal to end the game at
22-19. Although, the Cowboys weren't successful in attaining the victory, Romo again proved his worth with his efforts.

With Romo the official quarterback of the Cowboys for the remainder of the NFL season, expect him to continue his road to prosperity. At week 10, the season is almost over but not quite. Romo is without a doubt, the new start in Irving, Texas.

as a life long cowboys fan, i too would say romo honks big time. their like the new york yankees of football(tons of money spent on good players and the team sucks). i thought just maybe, just maybe this would be the year they got the job done and went to the super bowl, but they got a long ways. dallas should try to get matt cassel, get rid of pac man and maybe roy rilliams. another thing i think was stupid is how they got roy williams and lost their chance at 1st dibs in the draft, but that's just me.

As a life long Dallas fan I believe it is time to draft a new quarterback. Tony Romo cannot function under pressure. The loss to the Eagles was the worst choke job I have ever seen. Jerry needs to pay Jimmy JOhnson whatever it takes and bring him back so the cowboys can at least beat the Lions next year.

The Offensive line sucks and Tony Romo doesn't know how to win the big game. Why did we ever get rid of G Larry Allen? Roy williams is a loser as is that Reeves. Wish we had more Marion Barber type people on the team. Wade Phillips not bothered whether they lose or not.
