Tony Shalhoub is Leaving Monk After It's Upcoming Eighth Season! We Will MISS You as Your Loved Long Fans!

Phillip W. Chambley
Will there ever be another Monk? This comical and lovable private investigator seems to be afraid of just about anything there is in life? "Ironically he never seemed to be afraid of observing Dead Bodies during homicide investigations?" This guy is afraid of the wind, milk, germs, shaking peoples hands, etc. Anything you can possibly think of in today's American society.

But, somehow Adrian Monk, former police officer, always seems to notice other objects and materials that police investigators always seem to overlook once he arrives on the scene of a murder investigation. He always does this "Funny Thing" with his hands moving back and forth, as tho he is using an invisible magic wand. Straightening pictures and certain objects all around in the process. Everything has to be perfect?

But yet, this is the reason why Monk is so "Incredible" he seems to notice things that no one else ever does. Simply, because of his Perfection of sight, smell, touch and even sound on one of the episodes whenever he was in the fire station and was temporarily blinded by a corrosive chemical that was thrown in his face by a criminal running out the door during a murder while "Monk" was making a simple station visit to a friend.

What's truly more amazing during these comical and sometimes dramatic episodes is the fact that Murder always SEEMS to follow Monk? Especially the part where Sharona convinced him to get on the airplane visiting a relative. He wanted to go! But, he didn't want to leave Sharona at the same time! However, because of his keen eye, he noticed that a lady seemed to be taller than he had seen in the airport terminal versus the way she appeared on the airplane, so he decided to stay causing confusion and turmoil for everyone on the airplane, especially the staff members.

Naturally everyone on the plane thought he was "Crazy!" Except for Randy, whom finally believed Monk in the very end, thus solving the crime inside the airport. Or, what about the episode where Monk and Sharona went on vacation? Sharona's son, Benji seen a murder while looking through these oversize paid beach binoculars, that he was dramactically crying and told Monk about, but only Monk believed him. Which is one of the things that made the character Monk so kindhearted and lovable because of his love for other human beings. "The maids were the killers" in the end and Benji was right from the very beginning.

Unfortunately, Monk seemed to never give up on the loss of his beloved wife after a car bombing in an in town garage, which was recently shown in this seventh season where he chained himself to the concrete poles and refused to leave because they were getting ready to tear down the building and clear out this entire vicinity and eventually make it into a city park where his wife was mistakenly murdered, because it was supposed to be Monk as revealed in previous episodes from "Dale the Whale".

Once again, "Monk seemed to be always surrounded by Murder?" Because one of the city council members had been murdered. Monk finally lost in the end of restoring this particular building. But the childrens park was devoted and named to his late wife "Trudy Monk". Which is also one of the things that has made this hit television show a true success because of the love and respect for other people on today's modern cable and satellite T.V. viewing.

I guess my favorite episode had to be whenever Monk and Sharona went to Mexico, and Monk refused to drink any of the water. His mouth was so dry in the very end, that he was "in a hurry to leave" even after he solved the murder crime that was originally aimed at him to begin with. Sharona on the other hand loved her beads that she had won while drinking? "DUH!" The Mexican authorities finally arrested the criminal, but Monk could less because he only wanted his crystal springs drinking water. He finally stocked up a full stack of this product in his apartment in the end, which he would NOT let Sharona touch.

This comical, and truly lovable character called Monk always told his psychiatrist Dr. Kroger the events that were taking place during his life as a private investigator. At times, even the doctor could not figure what was going on in Monk's mind. Monk always seem to know the time during his sessions because of his biological clock. Even during one episode, there seem to be a "missing rock?" around Dr. Krogers' office which ironically also involved a murder investigation.

Tony Shalhoub has always been one of my favorite television actors, every since he played the part of "Wings" as a Taxi Cab driver. I have personally been proud of him. Because he went on with this enormous success in television as "Monk". Internet rumors have stated that Tony made this previous statement and I quote:

Shalhoub says, "It's a great job, and I work with great people, and I really enjoy doing the character, but I think eight years is enough. I think we've kind of explored all the avenues we could possibly cover, and as much as I like the show and working on it, I really do want to think about moving onto whatever the next chapter might be. I think I want to keep acting, but I want to branch out and maybe be a producer on things I'm not acting in." Unquote:

As one of your true fans in the history of your acting career, I will always Love you and miss you! Tony Shalhoub! No matter what you decide to do with your life! You have brought happiness and enjoyment of family television viewing entertainment into every ones heart each week. Your television shows will most likely live on forever in history as the same as "Seinfeld and I love Lucy". God Bless You Tony.
