Tony Wears a Blanket
Real Time Poem
After playing Sally ( my guitar...named after Eric Clapton's song Lay Down Sally)
Tony grins
He gives that lop-sided grin I've seen a million times
Beneath the popcorn I tossed like snowflakes
He says, "Play that Alabama song, you know the one right?"
I nod and laugh
Yes, it's Dixieland Delight
I hit upon the computer keys, the song saved to it
It starts, his eyes close
He says, "Yes, yeah, that's the one, that's it!!!!!"
Wraps himself in a blanket over shirt and plaid pajamas
Eyes close and head nods to the song
He's free tonight, loving some country songs
Tony grins
