Located on Kitsap Way, in the Auto Center district, this restaurant has been in the community for about 40 years. The popularity of the eatery has resulted in expansions, one being an addition with a beautiful waterfront view. The atmosphere here is quite appealing. The walls are covered with pictures of locals enjoying birthdays and other events here. There also are numerous plaques symbolizing Tony's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria as being heavily community-involved. It is fun to take a look around and see all that is there. It was obvious how proud the employees and managers were of this place, also. Nice.
The service here is excellent and very friendly. The waitresses were knowledgeable about menu items, efficient in taking and delivering orders, and very pleasant to deal with. That was really nice to see. With a party of 30 people in our group, it was surprising to see how orders were not confused or served cold.
The menu was plain and simple, with easy to read print. It was not colorful nor loaded with pictures. Actually, I found it refreshing to see a good, old-fashioned style of menu. There was a page containing drinks (there are plenty of wines to choose from here), one containing appetizers and sandwiches, and one containing pastas and entrees. Pizzas had a page of their own, with every one being described deliciously.
Talking about pizzas, the ones ordered by our party (and tasted by me), were mouth-watering. All the ingredients were obviously fresh and very well combined taste-wise. The prices were well worth it as far as the pizzas go. Also, the pizza sizes were larger than other pizzerias in town.
Otherwise, the prices overall were rather high, in my opinion at Tony's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria. Upon seeing the portion sizes, though, the prices seemed more reasonable.
Items needing improved at Tony's include he fact they sold items that were not listed on the menu. For instance, I found out after all the orders were taken that a ½ size portion of spaghetti was available. I wonder how many other items were like that? Also, the breadsticks were those cheap, cardboard-like ones that are tasteless.
As far as Italian restaurants go, Tony's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria in Bremerton, Washington is a pleasant place to enjoy a night out. They handle large groups remarkably well, with everything setup beforehand. The ambiance is to be experienced and appreciated by everyone from singles to families with children. And, the food is tasty and fresh.
Tony's is located at 4906 Wheaton Way near the Dairy Queen. There is not a large parking lot, so come early. They accept reservations.
