Too Little;

Brendan W Vittum
too little;

the story
of one existence
summed
up
in two words -

too little;

too little -
did he tell a Mother
how he loved, valued,
the things she
did, sacrifices made
and lessons
taught through silent
example. gone -
too little, too
late.

too little -
did he tell sisters,
brothers and cousins
how he admired, respected,
the things they
created, who they
became and adversities
overcome through silent
perseverance. busy -
too little, too
late.

too little -
did he accept a father's
shortcoming, understand
the how and the why
of the who and
the what of the father
of the boy becoming
the man. embittered -
too little, too
late.

too little -
did he tell love,
how he loved, breathed,
the things they
said, how they
became light itself, their
words holding back
darkness. distant -
too little, too
late.

too little -
did he do the things
that needed doing.
too little -
did he think the things
that needed thinking.
too little -
did he say the things
that needed saying.
too little -
did he give the things
that needed giving.

too little -
one existence
distilled
to two
words;

too little.
